chapter 9-Tragic ending

In this chapter that wraps the whole story up I feel bad for Gatsby who put his whole life and all its work into trying to win daisy over and fails to do it. I also was surprised to find that nick did not tell tom that it was daisy driving the car. I believe it would not have any effect but it would put some guilt on tom who deserved it after telling Wilson. As i said in the discussion i was surprised that his father would even come as they have not seen each other in quite some time and jay even changed his last name. Even though i feel bad for Gatsby he should of had a fall back on something as he was sucked into his dream and risked everything for her As stated in the end of the book "Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us." (Fitzgerald 180)

chapter 8 Gatsby death

This chapter really surprised me and my prediction did not come out as planned. I was very surprised that Wilson shot Gatsby. When the gardener found Wilson body at the end of the chapter "It was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the gardener saw Wilson body a little way off in the grass, the holocaust was complete"(Fitzgerald 162). We can only assume that Wilson then killed himself because of how sad he was back when michaelis came up to his house and was asking him questions. I thought that after Myrtle died that Wilson would kill himself because of how sad he looked when he saw the T.J. ekelburg sign and when he states "God sees everything" (Fitzgerald 160).

Chapter-7

In this chapter as we find out more about Gatsby and how he has obtained his money. Tom has been bashing on him because of how he is a criminal. Now that Daisy has showed her love toward Gatsby when she kissed him in public when tom went inside. I believe that Gatsby and daisy will get together still because daisy is just to much about money and how rich Gatsby is despite what he said to daisy about tom "she never loved you". I can see that so far my past prediction of tom getting screwed is coming together as his mistress is now dead because Daisy hit her with Gatsby car.

Chapter 6 gatsbys past and hopes of future

This chapter we find a lot about jay gatsbys past and how he dropped out of his school in the first 2 weeks because he was a janitor. Also he told us about dan cody and how he was a rich drunk who took gatsby as his personal assistant. He should of had 25,000 inheritances from him but his wife took it, this caused his motivation to want to be rich and successful in life. We also see how tom is interfereing with gatsby and daisys relationship because he decides to go to one of his partys with daisy to keep an eye on her. I believe that daisy and Gatsby will get together and they will get out of being fake and tom will get screwed.

chapter5-the date

This chapter is where Gatsby's plan of using nick really comes into play as he finally meets daisy. Here we find out more of the mysterious character and the jobs he said such as a drug dealer. Gatsby also starts to be superficial around daisy and nick when he acts all happy. But there is still some mystery about Gatsby and the job that he keeps getting nick to do to make some extra $$

Chapter 1

In the great Gatsby the first chapter introduced the Buchanan, Jordan, nick (the narrarator) and in the end of the chapter jay Gatsby. I think that Gatsby is a magician because at the end of the chapter when nick sees a green light and Gatsby then watching him disappear. I believe that the color green is associated with Gatsby and his mansion. I also found it strange that Gatsby was content with being alone when he has all of these parties at his mansion with a lot op people.
